Hi, I’m Amissa

Welcome! I’m Amissa, the maker behind Ground Glass Ceramics. Each piece in my collection is handmade in small batches in my home studio. My work blends function with form and is inspired by shapes and colors found in nature.

Why “Ground Glass”?

By day, I am a radiologist — a doctor who reads x-rays, CTs, MRIs, etc. The term “ground glass" is a common phrase used to describe how certain findings can look on imaging. In my radiology practice, this phrase comes up often — and it serves as a connecting bridge between my two vocations.
